The sixth annual Knights of Columbus-Dublin Dr Pepper “Challenge of Champions” Invitational Soccer Tournament is set to begin Friday morning at the Stephenville Soccer Complex.
Twelve boys teams and 12 girls teams will be vying for their respective championships in the event, sponsored by Southwest Dairy Farmers.
Pool play begins at 10 a.m. on all four fields, and continues under the lights at 7 p.m. Twelve matches are scheduled for Friday (Editor’s note: Game times listed below).
Play continues at 9 a.m. Saturday morning, and concludes after each team has finished its three match round robin pool play.
Pool winners advance to the championship and consolation matches set for 2:30 p.m.
Last year, Gainesville finished second in the boys field, while Brewer defeated Randall in the consolation match.
The Stephenville Honeybees narrowly lost last year’s championship to Azle, 1-0.
Tickets are $2 per day, or $3 for a two-day pass.
