Volleyball season begins in just four days, and the Stephenville Honeybees are staying busy this weekend with multi-team scrimmage action to get prepared.
Workouts began Monday at SHS, and after just four days of practices and scrimmaging amongst themselves, Coach Fran Metzger and the Bees welcome Abilene Cooper and Granbury to town today.
Both high school gyms will be used, with action slated to begin at 10 a.m. Cooper and Granbury are both members of Class 5A.
All teams will hit the road tomorrow for a four-team scrimmage event at Birdville. Host BHS, Northwest and Burleson will join Stephenville at the competition, beginning at 9 a.m.
The Honeybees, district runners-up and Region I quarterfinalists in 2006, will then serve up regular season play as they attack the nets against Burleson at home Tuesday.
All three Honeybee teams will challenge the Elks, with one freshman contest and the JV playing at 5 p.m., and the second freshman battle and varsity game immediately following at approximately 6:30 p.m.
The varsity Bees will then travel to Duncanville for tournament play next Friday, Aug. 17 and Saturday, Aug. 18.
