Tarleton State University’s men's basketball team will travel to Los Angeles to play UCLA in its first season as an NCAA Division I program.

The Texans will play the Bruins in a non-conference game on Nov. 20, 2020 at historic Pauley Pavilion.

The Texans are set to join the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) on July 1 and will begin its four-year Division I transitional period this fall.

UCLA will be Tarleton's first time playing against a Pac-12 school in any sport. UCLA went 19-12 last season and finished second in the Pac-12 under first-year head coach Mick Cronin.

"What an exciting opportunity this is for our program!" said head coach Billy Gillispie. “To be able to go and play at historic Pauley Pavilion is something that we all will look forward to and I know that the players will cherish this for the rest of their lives. UCLA will have a top-notch team that will provide a monumental challenge, but it's these types of experiences that our current and future players can expect as we transition to Division I."

This marks the second non-conference game announced for the 2020 season by Gillispie, with the Texans also traveling to Texas A&M on Dec. 2.

The complete 2020-21 Tarleton men's basketball schedule will be released in the coming weeks on TarletonSports.com.
