Three members of Stephenville High School’s varsity tennis team made the Texas High School Coaches Association’s first-team academic all-state team for the 2019-202 season, and two earned second-team recognition, head coach Karen Greenhaw announced.

Two Yellow Jackets — Ryan Donham and Kacen Groves — were on the first-team academic all-state list, as was Honeybee Victoria LaDuque.

One SHS girl, Scout Tassione, and one boy, Abner Mendoza, are on the second team.

Honeybee Tania Arreguin and Yellow Jacket Marco Rodriguez received academic all-state honorable mention.

“This senior class will be (missed) on and off the courts as role models and leaders. I could not be more proud of their academic achievements and accomplishments,” Greenhaw stated.

The THSCA website states that it recognizes the academic all-state student-athletes based on their grade-point averages, class rank and ACT/SAT scores.
