Stephenville High School’s varsity girls and boys track teams both placed second overall in the final team standings Saturday in the Bluebonnet Relays, hosted by Brownwood High School.

For the second meet in a row, SHS freshman Victoria Cameron swept first place in both the 100-meter and 200-meter girls races.

Also for the Honeybees, Marisa Otero won the girls 1,600, and placed second in the 3,200.

Stephenville’s Kiedra Mills won the girls pole vault, and Shayden Toof took first place in the triple jump.

The Honeybees placed second in the girls 800-meter relay, with Amber Walker, Kenna Cashon, Jordan DeCorte and Livi Leinhauser.

For the SHS boys, in the 800-meter run, Alex Loyola won first place and teammate Kyle Styron was second. Loyola also had a second-place finish in the 1,600.

Ben Kirbo in the pole vault, and Logan Davis in the shot put, also brought home first-place finishes for the Yellow Jackets.

The next meet for the SHS girls and boys teams will be March 19 in Glen Rose, for the Tiger Relays. The schedule shows that meet with a 3 p.m. start time.

That will be followed by Stephenville’s annual Optimist Relays (also girls and boys), set for a 9 a.m. start on March 27, at Lem Brock Field. The district meet is scheduled for April 1-2 at Gordon Wood Stadium in Brownwood.
