Bryson Dill and Kason Seider combined to pitch a 2-hitter as the Stephenville Yellow Jackets pulled out a 3-1 baseball victory over Class 5A Everman with three runs in the top of the sixth inning Thursday to open play in the three-day Kennedale Tournament.

Seider, who pitched the first three innings, picked up the victory. He allowed no runs on one hit and walked two batters.

Dill started and worked the first four innings, giving up one run on one hit, while striking out five and walking four.

Stephenville, which had seven hits in the game, improved to 4-2 on the season entering Friday’s tournament games. The Kennedale tourney will end Saturday, with a 1:30 p.m. game against Diamond Hill Jarvis.

After the Yellow Jackets found themselves down 1-0 in the bottom of the third inning, they took the lead in the sixth when Luna drove in two runs with a double. Case Dunavant, who was 2-for-3 at the plate, also doubled and drove in one run.

Also for the Jackets at the plate, Trace Morrison went 2-for-3, while John-Rex Haile and Kyle Styron added one hit each.

Next on the schedule for the Jackets will be a tournament in Wimberly, March 12-14.
