Stephenville High School’s varsity girls and boys soccer teams will resume play at home on Friday, Feb. 21 when they take on Brownwood in their second District 6-4A contest, at Lem Brock Field.
The SHS Honeybees, the defending state champions currently ranked No. 3 in the MaxPreps Class 4A girls online state rankings, opened district play Friday in Mineral Wells with a 3-1 victory over the Lady Rams.
The SHS Yellow Jackets finished regulation play at 2-2 in the boys district opener at Mineral Wells Friday, but the Rams won on penalty kicks.
The Honeybees are 13-1-1 on the season. Brownwood’s 7-5-1 Lady Lions are No. 31, according to MaxPreps.
The 10-5-2 Yellow Jackets are ranked No. 27 in the state by MaxPreps.
Friday’s district varsity games against Brownwood at Lem Brock Field are set to start with the girls matchup at 5 p.m., followed by the boys at 7 p.m.
