The Class 4A bi-district girls basketball playoff pairing for the Stephenville High School Honeybees will be against Bridgeport, Monday, Feb. 17, in Arlington.
SISD Athletic Director announced that coach Jason Hodges’ Honeybees are scheduled to play at 8 p.m. Feb. 17, as the third game of a tripleheader in the College Park Center, 600 S. Center St. on the campus of UT-Arlington, where there is a “clear bag policy.”
Presale tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students (online at https://bit.ly/2tVXy6P). After 10 a.m. on Monday, tickets will be $10 for adults, $5 for students. Parking will be $10.
The Honeybees, 23-11 on the season, are the third-place team out of District 7-4A at 4-4 behind champion Glen Rose (8-0, 28-6) and runner-up Brownwood (5-3, 19-12).
The last game for the Bees was Feb. 7, a 50-38 loss at Brownwood. They had been in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches top 25 poll, but slipped out of the rankings after that loss.
Bridgeport, 20-5 overall, is the District 8-4A runner-up behind Argyle (7-1, 27-6), and is ranked No. 13 by the TABC.
Godley (3-5, 10-16) finished fourth ahead of Mineral Wells (0-8, 7-20) in the five-team district to take the final playoff spot.
The first game of Monday’s tripleheader at UTA will match Godley against District 8-4A champion Argyle at 4 p.m.
Glen Rose will play the second game, taking on Krum at 6 p.m. Krum (3-5, 15-12) finished fourth in 8-4A.
Decatur (4-4, 27-7) was third in 8-4A and will be paired against Brownwood in bi-district.
The bi-district winners will advance to the second (area) playoff round. The survivor of the Stephenville-Bridgeport matchup will advance to play the winner of the first-round playoff between the District 5-4A champion and the fourth-place team from District 6.
