The 15th-ranked Stephenville Honeybees continued their unbeaten streak in District 7-4A volleyball Friday night with a 25-9, 25-20, 25-9 victory at Glen Rose Friday.

SHS is now 6-0 in district, and has won nine consecutive matches overall and 14 of its last 15. The Bees will be home Tuesday to take on Mineral Wells at 6 p.m. on Parents Night.

Friday’s win — on the road, over the three-time defending district champion Lady Tigers — solidified the Honeybees’ first-place standing in District 7-4A. With two games remaining in the regular season, the Bees lead runner-up Brownwood, at 3-2, followed by third-place Godley at 3-3, Glen Rose at 2-4 and Mineral Wells at 0-5.

In the most recent Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 4A state volleyball poll, only seven teams were listed as having more wins than the Honeybees so far this season.

In Friday’s subvarsity matches at Glen Rose, SHS won both the junior varsity (25-22, 25-9) and freshmen (25-21, 25-9) battles.

Stephenville is slated to play Tuesday, Oct. 22 at home against Mineral Wells, for the annual Parents Night game. The Honeybees have an open date on Friday, then will finish their regular-season schedule on Oct. 29 at Brownwood (varsity at 4:30 p.m.).
