The state-ranked Stephenville High School Honeybees, coming off a straight-sets win over Brownwood, begins the second half of District 7-4A action looking to stay unbeaten within the league.
Friday’s 25-12, 25-13, 25-21 win at home over the Lady Lions improved the Honeybees’ district record to 4-0. Brownwood, which had been the only other unbeaten team in the district, is now 3-1. Godley is third at 2-2.
SHS needs one more win to reach 30 on the season, at 29-9. The Honeybees are 25th in the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s Class 4A volleyball rankings.
Stephenville was scheduled to play Tuesday, Oct. 15 at home in Gandy Gym versus Godley. The scheduled 6 p.m. varsity contest is the annual Pink Out volleyball game, this year featuring Jennifer Lannin, who is battling cancer. Lannin will be recognized on the court starting at approximately 5:30 p.m.
After the Godley matchup, next for the Honeybees will be a road game at three-time defending district champion Glen Rose on Friday (varsity at 4:30 p.m.).
