Stephenville High School’s girls and boys cross country teams competed Friday in the Granbury Race for the Loot meet, and the Honeybees took second place among five schools entered in the Class 4A girls division while the Yellow Jackets were ninth overall in the field of 14 boys schools.

The Honeybees were paced by Amiah Rodriguez, who placed third in the division with a time of 13:09.47 on the girls’ 3,200-meter course.

For the SHS boys, Alex Loyola led the way with a time of 18:03.86 over the 5,000-meter boys course in a time of 18;06.86 for 27th place.

The Yellow Jackets and the Honeybees were scheduled to host their own Thrill of the Hill meet on Wednesday, Oct. 9, starting at 2 p.m. at the Stephenville City Park. The next outing is scheduled to be the District 7-4A meet on Tuesday, Oct. 15, also slated to be held at Stephenville’s City Park (10 a.m.).
