The Stephenville High School Honeybees followed up Friday night's 25-10, 25-13, 25-10 District 7-4A volleyball victory at Mineral Wells with a 25-15, 25-8, 25-4 non-district win Monday night over Wichita Falls High in a non-district contest played at Graham.
The win over Mineral Wells improved their record to 3-0 in district and 28-9 overall. The Lady Rams are now 0-2 in district.
Despite the two road wins, which gave them 11 in their last 12 outings, Stephenville dipped from No. 18 to No. 25 this week in the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s Class 4A rankings.
Coach Shay Douglas' Honeybees will resume district play in an important match against Brownwood this Friday, Oct. 11 (varsity at 4:30 p.m.). The Lady Lions are the only other team in the district that is still unbeaten, at 2-0.
In the subvarsity games against Mineral Wells, SHS won the junior varsity match, 25-10, 25-13, and also took a win in the freshman game, 25-15, 25-7.
