There will be 12 girls and nine boys from the Stephenville High School track and field teams competing in the Region I-4A meet based on their performances in the area meet that concluded Wednesday night in Springtown.

Stephenville’s girls racked up 120 points to finish second behind Brownwood with 198 in the final team standings. The SHS boys were fifth with 61 points.

The girls and boys regional meet is slated for April 26-27 in Lubbock. The top four in each event advanced to regional. The top two in each regional event will qualify for the state meet, set for May 10-11 in Austin. 

Seniors Chloe Goodman qualified in four events and Kalli-Blake Bramlett made it in three events. Two-event regional qualifiers are sophomore Alee McClendon and freshman Landri Withers.

Bramlett and teammate Aubreyanna Ziegler, a junior competing in the shot put, earned first-place medals in the girls division. For the Yellow Jackets, senior Kyle Lindsey won the area high jump title.

SHS junior Shayden Toof is seeking her second consecutive triple jump berth in the state meet. She placed eighth last year in Austin.

The SHS girls who advanced to regional are Kalli-Blake Bramlett (pole vault, 400 relay, 800 relay); Allie Decker (high jump); Chloe Goodman (triple jump, 200, 400 relay, 800 relay); Livi Leinhauser (800 relay); Alee McClendon (100 hurdles, 800 relay); Keidra Mills (pole vault); Alyssa Northcutt (discus); Shayden Toof (triple jump); Presley Wall (1,600); Reese Weyers (400 relay); Landri Withers (long jump, 400 relay); and Aubreyanna Ziegler (shot put).

The boys who advanced to regional are Cade Cowan (pole vault); Payton Kimple (1,600 relay); Ben Kirbo (pole vault); Kyle Lindsey (high jump); Hank Moore (1,600 relay); Krece Nowak (long jump, triple jump); Gavin Rountree (1,600 relay); Kyle Styron (1,600 relay); and Quentin Walker (discus).

SHS girls alternates are Kassidy Nowak (800 relay); Amiah Rodriguez (800 relay); and Amber Walker (400 relay).

One Yellow Jacket, Brayden Garcia, is an alternate for the 1,600 relay.
