Tarleton State University volleyball player Amber Strange came on the scene with a bang last year as a freshman when she earned honorable mention in Lone Star Conference play.
Strange, a 6-0 middle blocker from Granbury, also earned a spot on the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll. She was selected as the LSC’s Defensive Player of the Week twice in 2017.
In high school, Strange lettered four years in volleyball and was a two-year captain and two-time district most valuable player. Strange holds GHS all-time records for career kills (1,636) and blocks (228.5). She competed in two high school volleyball all-star games.
She also lettered four years basketball for the Lady Pirates, and was honorable mention all-state in that sport as a senior.
