Coach Alan Thorpe’s Stephenville High School Honeybees cruised into the Thanksgiving break unbeaten and state-ranked through their first four basketball games, including two early this week.

The Honeybees are ranked No. 9 in the state in Class 4A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

On Monday the Honeybees posted a 53-46 victory over Eastland, getting a game-high 29-point offensive explosion from Jayci Morton.

The Honeybees then improved to 4-0 on the season by defeating Jacksboro 47-37 on Tuesday in Gandy Gym, getting 15 points from Morton. Four other players — Hailey Martin, Payton Wall, Tess Baker and Madison Carter tied with 6 points each.

The next game for the Honeybees will be Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Aledo. The varsity contest is set for 6:30 p.m.
