For the second time in less than a week, Tarleton took care of Eastern New Mexico in straight sets inside the friendly confines of Wisdom Gym as the No. 15 TexAnns cruised past the Greyhounds to open the Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament Thursday.

Tarleton (27-5) won the first set 25-15, the second set 25-11, and the third set 25-17. The TexAnns tied the school record for wins in a season, matching the win totals from the 2015 and 2016 seasons. It was their 19th sweep of the season and the .440 team hitting percentage was a season-high for the TexAnns.

With a rowdy Wisdom Gym crowd behind them, the TexAnns came out swinging right out of the gate as Hailey Roberts landed the first kill of the match to start an 8-1 Tarleton run over the opening nine points.

The Greyhounds brought things as close as four at 11-7 before Hannah McManus powered home a kill for a 12-7 lead that started Tarleton on a set-clinching 13-8 run, which was capped off by a kill from Adriana Darthuy for a 25-15 win in the opening set.

The second set proved to be more of the same for the top-seeded team from Tarleton as Roberts scored four of the first five TexAnn points as Tarleton jumped out to a 5-0 advantage to force Eastern New Mexico into an early timeout. Out of the break, Tarleton scored 12 of the next 17 points to extend the lead to 17-5.

After Eastern New Mexico scored five of the next eight, Tarleton pushed the lead to 23-10 with three unanswered points before Roberts and Jordyn Keamo ended the set with a kill and a service ace, respectively.

The Greyhounds took their first lead of the match by scoring first and taking a 3-2 lead over the first five points, but Tarleton quickly turned an attack error into six unanswered points for an 8-3 lead in the set.

Tarleton edged out the Greyhounds 13-12 over the next 25 points to put themselves just four short points away from the sweep at 21-14. Tarleton closed things out with a block and a kill from McManus and two Eastern errors to claim the match.

Hailey Roberts led the way with 15 kills on a .423 hitting percentage. Tarleton had four players with at least four kills and a hitting percentage above .400 for the match. McManus had six kills and no errors on eight swings. Jordyn Keamo's 25 assists led the offense while Adrianna Knutson's 12 digs led the defense.

Tarleton will return to action Friday night in the LSC semifinals against West Texas A&M at 7:30 p.m. in Wisdom Gym.
