Tarleton returned to Wisdom Gym Friday to begin its final home stand of the season and the No. 14 TexAnns did not disappoint as they handled Western New Mexico with ease in a sweep (25-16, 25-16, 25-10).

Tarleton also was recognized as the newest Lone Star Conference Champions in front of the home crowd as the TexAnns were awarded the league's trophy in a postgame celebration. With the title of league champion also comes the right to host the LSC Championship Tournament, which begins Thursday.

Back to Friday's action, Western New Mexico came out swinging to the tune of a 10-9 lead over the first 19 points before Hailey Roberts tied the game with a kill shot at 10-10 to start a 13-3 TexAnn run out to 23-13. Tarleton got a service error and another kill from Roberts to close things out at 25-16.

In the second set, it was another Roberts kill that started a big run as the TexAnns went on a 14-1 surge following her first kill of the set. Over that span, Jordyn Keamo served up 10 straight points for the TexAnns and had three aces. The TexAnns went on to score eight of the next 18 points to claim the set 25-16.

In the third set, Tarleton ended the match in decisive fashion as the TexAnns allowed Western New Mexico to score consecutive points only one time in the set en route to a 25-10 victory to seal the deal.

Roberts powered home a match-high 18 kills on a .438 hitting percentage to go along with 12 digs. Hannah McManus and Adriana Darthuy combined for 16 kills with eight apiece to boost the Tarleton offense, which hit .370 as a team.

Keamo dished out 32 assists to lead the offensive while Adrianna Knutson led the team with 14 digs.

Tarleton will close out the regular season with a 12 p.m. showdown with Eastern New Mexico tomorrow afternoon in Wisdom Gym. There will be a postgame senior ceremony to honor Chandler Gow, Hailey Roberts, and Jordyn Keamo.
