STEPHENVILLE — Alfredo Meras, 49, died Thursday, August 6, 2009 in Des Plaines, Illinois.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church with Father Phil McNamara officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery in Stephenville. Visitation: Tuesday, 10 a.m. - noon and 4 — 8 p.m..
Alfredo was born January 11, 1960 in Durango, Mexico to Ana Maria and Francisco Meraz. Alfredo worked as a truck driver for companies in and around Stephenville for most of his life. He proudly became a U.S. citizen in 1991. He loved dancing, caring for animals, and claiming “I’m only 21!”
Alfredo is survived by his parents; daughter, Talia and husband Tim Gaston of McKinney, Texas; son, Nicasio Meras of Stephenville; daughter, Daniella Aysa Meras of Comanche, Texas; grandson, Trey Gaston of McKinney; sisters, Hilaria Favela, Ernestina Meraz, Julia Campos, Maria R. Meraz, Ermelinda Martinez, Gabriella Meraz; brother, Juan Meraz; and many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and close friends.
