AUSTIN - Elizabeth S. Belcher Williams, 90, after a lengthy illness, left this world peacefully, with her son by her side on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at Stephenville Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Beth was born in Greenville on July 21, 19l7. She moved to Stephenville when she was a child and remained there, attending Tarleton University, becoming a wife and a devoted mother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. In 1964, she moved to Austin to enable her son Rhett to attend the University of Texas and she became a member of the First Baptist Church of Austin. She was blessed to have had the love of two special men while she lived in Austin, The Honorable Judge Ernest Belcher and Gerald E. Williams with whom she inherited wonderful stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her great joy.
She is predeceased by her father, Roy Stafford, her mother, Minnie Lee Stafford, her brother, Yates Stafford, her sister-in-law, Evelyn Stone and her beloved daughter, Jan Stone.
Beth is survived by her son, Rhett Stone and daughter-in-law, Candy, of Austin, her sister-in-law, Eloise Stafford, her niece, Gloria Stafford, her nephew, William Stafford and their children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request that you make a donation to your favorite charity in Beth's memory or to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, phone calls, flowers, friendship and love. A special thank you to the Grace House and the staff who helped complete her final journey in life with love and care.
