BERTRAM - Beck Hibler, 84, passed away Thursday Nov. 22, 2007, in Temple.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Bertram with Rev. Gordon Bergstrom, Rev. Jim Brazzil, and Bro. Rodney McGee officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Edgar Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hibler was born April 9, 1923, in Williamson County, to Hunter Felix Hibler and Mary Lou Sexton Hibler. Beck served Burnet County as Commissioner for 25 years. He was past President and Charter member of the Burnet County Fair and Rodeo, past President of the Bertram 4 -H Club, past Worshipful Master of the Bertram Masonic Lodge AF & AM, a veteran of World War II serving in the Airforce and flying as a Tailgunner in 49 missions over Italy, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bertram.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Hibler, grandson, Josh Hibler, three sisters and five brothers.

Mr. Hibler is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Brown and her husband Mike of Stephenville, Becky Whitehead and her husband Chris of Bertram; son Jimmy Hibler and his wife Cheryl of Bertram, sisters, Regina Glimp, Bertram, and Novella Wiley all of Austin; brother, G.D. Hibler of Austin; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church in Bertram, The Bertram Youth Riding Club, the Bertram Library, or the Bertram Masonic Lodge.
