SAN ANTONIO — Edward Burk Roach, Jr. went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the age of 64.
Visitation will be at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2009. Graveside services will be at the Everett family cemetery in Stephenville (Highway 108 N at CR 163) on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Arrangements through Mission Park Funeral Chapels North in San Antonio and Stephenville Funeral Home in Stephenville.
Eddie graduated from Stephenville H.S. and Texas State where he played football. He coached and taught science in SAISD for 30 years. His football and basketball teams at Poe MS won several football & basketball city championships. As defensive coordinator at Fox Tech for 17 years, he had the honor of coaching a 10-0 team in 1986. Ed finished his career at Longfellow MS. Edward was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Adele McMahan and mother-in-law, Marilyn Dunn.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Barbara: parents and in-laws Edward and Winnie Roach and Milton and Pat Dunn; daughters, their husbands and the grandchildren: Carly and Jason Carlough and sons Robert and William; Mandy and Chris Cox, daughter Ella; brothers, sisters and their partners: Cissy and Eddie Bramlett, Duncan McMahan, Larry andLinda Dunn, Jayme Dunn and Dave Hetherington, Kelley and Steve Pitts, Larry McMahan, and Ty Roach. Ed is survived by aunts and uncles. Billy Earl and Margaret Roach, Wanda and Mutt Gunnels, Opal Dunn and Betty Everett. Also precious to Ed were his numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.
