STEPHENVILLE Dr. Edward L. Fulton, 71, a retired professor from Tarleton State University, died Monday, May 19, 2008, at a Ft. Worth hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Murray officiating. Burial will be at West End Cemetery with arrangements by Lacy Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. this evening at Lacy Funeral Home.

Dr. Fulton was born on Feb. 6, 1937, to the late Edward Olin Fulton and Agnes Gertrude Ames in DeQueen, Ark. He married Shirley (Stevens) Fulton on Sept. 15, 2002, in Holton, Mich.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Elks Lodge, and a member of the Army National Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Fulton of Stephenville; his son, Clay Fulton and wife Sherry of Newport, Ark.; five daughters, Leanne Lloyd and husband Jay of Maud, Ralynn Bogard and husband Chuck of Fort Worth, Debbie Klowsky and husband Mike of Rockford, Ill., Shellie Byrne and husband Kyle of Arlington, and Becky Hamilton and husband Todd of Richland Hills; a sister, Mary Helen Bobbit of Houston; two brothers, John R. Fulton of Grapeland, and Alvin Carl Fulton of Seabrook; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
