STEPHENVILLE - Naomi G. Chambers, 102, of San Antonio, formerly of Stephenville passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, in San Antonio.
Naomi was born on Dec. 23, 1917, in Wilson, Oklahoma to the late Frank Howard and Maude Lela Keng Gentry. She married L. B. Chambers on Feb. 14, 1976, in Stephenville, their ceremony performed by Elder Tommy Hart. L. B. preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1997. Naomi was a member of the Bethany Primitive Baptist Church in San Antonio. She loved to crochet, quilt, garden, and travel. Naomi spent most of her life as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, having worked at Community Hospital in Freeport, Danbury Hospital in Angleton, Creekside Nursing Home in Clute, and Stephenville Nursing Home in Stephenville.
Naomi is survived by her children, Joe Mooneyham, Patrick Mooneyham, and David Mooneyham; sister, Billy Jean Gentry Shepherd; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, L. B.; Naomi was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Mason; brothers, Jack Gentry and Kenneth Gentry; and sisters, Polly Gentry and Lucille Gentry Bardwell.
Naomi’s cremains will be placed next to her husband, L. B. Chambers, at West End Cemetery at a later date.
