STEPHENVILLE - Adam Cody Proa, 40, passed away Sept. 2 in Erath County.
He was born in Robert Lee to Antonio Proa and Debra Reed. He was a loving dad to his only daughter, Zelma, and was proud of all her accomplishments. Cody was very creative. He was both a master chef/grillmaster and a master carpenter. He was a superior negotiator and liked nothing better than striking a great bargain. Cody was employed by Rockin’ J Restaurant in Comanche. He was a Christian.
He is survived by his daughter, Zelma Kay Proa of Gainesville; father and stepmother, Tony and Leanna Proa of Comanche; Mother, Debra Reed of Gainesville; grandmother, Zelma Reed of Abilene; brothers, Anthony Proa and wife Stephanie of Denton, Michael Johnston of Scottsdale, Arizona, and B.J. Phelps and wife Connie of Stephenville; sisters, Jeannie Sisson of Stephenville, Jackie Foster and husband Matt of Illinois, and Paula Montgomery and husband Chris of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Family will have lunch at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, at East Side Baptist Church followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Steven Schulte officiating.
