LITCHFIELD - Richard K. Wilcox, 83, of Bantam, CT, passed away Aug. 19 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

Richard was born to the late Erna and John J. Wilcox. He grew up in the Milton section of Litchfield and graduated from Litchfield High Class of 1954. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at the end of the Korean War.

He was always proud of being a crew chief on one of the earliest C-130 Aircraft. In the early 60s, he started his first company, RK Wilcox General Contractor.

In the 1980s, he moved to Stephenville and started RK Wilcox Dairy Lot Cleaning until he retired. He moved back to Milton in 2010.

He is survived by a sister, Claudia Wilcox Palmer of Litchfield and brothers Harold and Jack Wilcox of Torrington as well as nieces an nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Janice Wilcox Jolicouer.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. at the Milton Congregational Church, Litchfield.
