STEPHENVILLE – Services for Row Hampton, 43, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at Cowboy Church of Erath County with Chad Monk and Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Cowboy Church.

Row was born in Stephenville to Johnny Wayne and Barbara Richardson Hampton. He graduated from Huckabay High School in 1994. (He attended Vernon College on a rodeo scholarship).

He was a member of the Double N Cowboy Church in Dublin, and was a lifelong resident of Erath County. Row was a cowboy. Row did things on Row’s own time.

He loved the outdoors, especially the ranch, and he loved to fish. (He always made sure to be on the good end of a trade). He proudly lived by the motto “Once a hustler, always a hustler.”

Row is survived by his mother, Barbara; sisters, Angie Hampton Yates and J.J. Hampton; brother, Ricky Prince; grandmother, Helen Hampton; uncle, Ronnie Jack Hampton and Rita; nephews, Kason Prince and Marty Yates and girlfriend Taylor Wharton; Trent Walls family; and his dog, Shay.

Row was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Wayne Hampton; paternal grandfather, Johnnie Hampton; brother, Marty Paul Yates; maternal grandparents, Hallie and Woody Richardson.

The Hampton family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the Johnny Wayne Hampton Memorial Scholarship.
