NEW YORK - An inspiration to many, Seth Alan Luker of Merrick, NY, went to be with his Lord on Friday, Dec. 22 at 12:22 a.m. Seth was 40 years old.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Gustine.

Seth fought for his life until his last breath. Using both traditional and alternative medicine to combat cancer, Seth was a believer in the power of plants, super foods and a healthy lifestyle. Optimizing life to its healthiest and fullest was his mission for both himself and for others struggling with health conditions. As part of his life’s mission, Seth developed and established Rockin’ Wellness in 2011, a super food company whose products are enjoyed by people across the country, from rock stars to athletes to cancer fighters and survivors.

Seth was born on Feb. 21, 1978 in Brownwood to Diane and Alan Luker. He grew up in Gustine, Panther Creek and Stephenville. Seth attended the University of North Texas on a football scholarship where he was a defensive lineman and received his B.A. in Finance.

After graduation, Seth became a tour manager for the indie rock band Submersed and also toured with Faktion and Rev Theory and also worked with Creed’s lead guitarist, Mark Tramonti. While on tour in Nashville, TN in 2007, Seth met Allison Schneider of Merrick, NY. The two became one and married in Long Island on December 8, 2009.

Seth was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2005 at the age of 27 and initially beat it, only for it to metastasize to his liver in 2008. After surgery in Texas, and chemo in NY. He beat cancer again, and in 2009 went into remission.

On May 20, 2012, a son was born to Seth and Allison. Cancer unfortunately struck the Luker family once again when Nash was diagnosed – at 3 days old – with a rare form of rhabdomyosarcoma. After multiple surgeries and 42 rounds of chemo, baby Nash beat his cancer. In 2017, Nash was selected as the poster boy for “The Children’s Miracle Network for Pediatric Cancer.” In 2018 Nash was celebrated at The Cohen Children’s Medical Center Annual Pediatric Cancer Survivors Day at Jones Beach.

With cancer becoming such a central focus on his life, and trusting on the power positive thinking to get through difficult times, Seth became a motivational speaker. Seth always saw “silver linings where they seemingly didn't exist.”

In 2013, alongside Harry Belafonte, Seth was the keynote speaker at the Monter Cancer Center Survivors benefit where he received not one, but two rounds of standing ovations from more than 3000 attendees for his inspirational speech. Seth continued to fight against cancer by raising awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle through nutrition. Through The Children’s Miracle Network once again, all three Lukers were featured on NASH FM 94.7 radio, America’s Country station twice to tell their story.

In 2016, Seth was unfortunately diagnosed once again with cancer. He bravely fought every day, waging his war against the disease like a true warrior, always with a positive attitude and a smile. After two and a half years of multiple surgeries, chemo and

endless hospitalizations, he finally succumbed to the battle.

His legacy to help people better their lives and health through good nutrition will continue through Rockin’ Wellness, as is evidenced by the hundreds of testimonials the company receives.

Seth is survived by his wife of nine years, Allison Schneider Luker and son Nash Luker of Merrick, NY, parents Alan and Diane Luker of Gustine, TX, brother Kelan Luker and wife, Kim of Magnolia, TX, sister Scarlett Williams and niece Alei Williams of Cedar Hill, TX nephew Kaegun Williams of San Diego, CA, and many family members both in Texas and New York, as well as friends from coast to coast.
