STEPHENVILLE—A memorial service for Vocial Bernice Truitt Tennyson, 94, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, in the chapel of the Stephenville First Baptist Church.
Vocial was born in Lamesa, Texas, to the late William Granville and Annie Lee Phillips Truitt. She married Savoy Lee Tennyson on Aug. 7, 1941 on the football field in Lamesa.
Vocial worked as a homemaker, secretary, and bookkeeper. She had resided in Stephenville since 1968 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Stephenville.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Ann Boucher of El Cajon, California; daughter-in-law, Jodee Lambert Tennyson of Stephenville; grandchildren, Ricky Tennyson and fiancé Gina Rae Reeves, Chris Dunn and wife Terri Ann, Star Stevens and husband Wes, Bryon Dunn and wife Rachel, Benjamin Boucher and wife Anna, Eric Dunn and wife Tasha and Julie Tennyson; siblings, Dubbie Truitt, Sammie Robinson, Peggy Beck and husband Jerry, Charleslene Brink and Royce Macon, and Marita Jackson and husband Arthur; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Truitt; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Savoy Tennyson; daughter, Carolyn Tennyson; son, Terry Lee Tennyson; great-grandson, Baciel Stevens; brothers, Phillip Truitt, and Charles Truitt; sister-in-law, Jaeglyn Truitt; and brothers-in-law, Edwin Robinson, and Charlie Brink.
