DUBLIN - Services for Wilma Davis, 83, will be on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 3 p.m. in Harrell Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday.

Wilma was born in Rotan to the late Stephen and Eula Mae Voigt.

She was a graduate of Alexander High School and married Harry Davis on July 18, 1953 in Granbury. They were married for 50 years.

Harry was in the Air Force and for the next 20 years they traveled and had a wonderful time. After Harry retired from the Air Force and they moved back to their farm in Purvis. She was hired by Dr. Fain of Tarleton and worked for him for thirteen years.

She then worked for President Thompson for six years and President McCabe for six years. She retired to help Harry on the farm. While employed at Tarleton she received the Yellow Rose of Texas award by Governor Ann Richards for her work with the students. She was a strong supporter of Tarleton athletics.

She was especially proud of being inducted into the Order of the Purple organization. She was awarded the Volunteer of the Year by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce for her work with the Dublin Goodfellows. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known for giving good hugs. She was a member of the Laurel St. United Methodist Church in Dublin, where she served on many committees and was a strong supporter of the church.

She was preceded in death by her son Stephen Davis in 2005, her husband Harry in 2009 her brothers, Samuel Voigt and Kirby Voigt, her sister, Joyce Daniels and her brothers-in-law, Red Pendleton and Jerry Daniels.

Survived by her daughter, Shirley Cramer of Dublin, her grandchildren, Jennifer Cook and husband, Justin of Burleson and Lee Payne of Lewisville, her great-grandchildren, Ethan Cook, Carrie Cook and Lindsey Cook, all of Burleson. her sister Blanch Pendleton of Dublin, her sister-in-law Darlene Voigt of Dublin, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
