ANSON—Services for Edna Alene Morris, 90, will be held at 2 p.m. today, at the First United Methodist Church of Anson. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home.
Alene was born in Haskell, Texas to William Lorell and Ruby (Wiseman) Kirby.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Anson, where she has kept the nursery for over 40 years. Alene was also a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. Alene was an active member in the community and served as a Foster Grandparent in the Anson Elementary School for several years after her retirement from Anson Plaza Pharmacy.
Alene is survived by her son, Mike Morris and his wife Charlotte of Walnut Springs; two granddaughters, Michelle Romero and her husband Robert of Fort Worth, Kristen Bourland and her husband Brian of Lewisville; one grandson, Michael Morris of Houston; one great-granddaughter, Jillian Romero, and two great-grandsons, Cooper and Oliver Bourland; step-grandson Chris Wenz and his wife Cynthia of Houston; three step great-grandsons, Roman, Justice, and Caleb Wenz; one sister, Wanda Curtis of Anson; one brother, Stanley Kirby, and his wife Almeta of Anson; one brother-in-law, Robert Morris of Gibson City, Illinois; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, W.L. and Ruby Kirby; her sister, Stella Kirby; and her brother, W.L. Kirby, Jr.
