STEPHENVILLE—Funeral services for James Loyce Wallace, 90, of Arlington, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at West End Cemetery in Stephenville. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

James was born in Stephenville to the late Jim and Rosie Wallace. He joined the Navy on Nov. 12, 1943, and married Rudene Gage while on leave on Nov. 24, 1945. After leaving the Navy on June 7, 1946, he returned to Stephenville. 

In 1953 he and his wife moved to Arlington where he worked for General Motors, retiring in  1983. James loved his family, fishing and working in his garden. He was loved by all.

James is survived by his wife of 70 years, Rudene Wallace; sons, Bill Wallace and wife Christine of Grand Prairie, and John Wallace and wife Kelly of Round Rock; grandchildren, Brittany Wallace, Robert Wallace, Angel Vargas, Heather Wallace and Christopher Wallace; two great-grandchildren; brother, D.E. ‘Dink’ Wallace; nephew, Leland Wallace; and numerous cousins.
