The Katherine Gordon Rice art exhibit opens Thursday at the Cross Timbers Fine Arts Gallery and will run through Nov. 24

The exhibit kicks off with an artist's reception from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the River North Gallery.

"We are thrilled to have her work on exhibit this month," CTFAC Executive Director Julie Crouch said.

Rice is from Eastland and has painted since 1973, and has extensive gallery experience. Her works hang in several public and private galleries including the Omniplex Museum in Oklahoma City.

Rice was nominated for the Guggenheim Fellowship in the fine arts and has authored a book, The Mechanics of Arts, now in its third publication.

"There is such a mix of her work on exhibit. She has everything from people to landscapes, each one is so unique," said Teresa Burdick, CTFAC executive assistant.

Rice will also host a luncheon and lecture "Art Collecting for the Unstuffy" from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 13.

The lunch is $20 and reservations must be made by Nov. 10 by calling 965-6190.
