Jerry and Yvonne Locklin celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Oct. 19, 2007, with a dinner hosted by their daughters, Lisa Duggan of Many, La., Stacy Dieter of Irving, and grandson, Andrew Locklin of Irving.
Jerry graduated from Bandera High and Yvonne graduated from Stephenville High School. They met at Tarleton State University in 1953 and were married on Oct. 19, 1957, at the First United Methodist Church in Stephenville. They lived in Vista, Calif., near Camp Pendleton, until completion of Jerry’s enlistment in the U.S. Marine Corps.
They located in Fort Worth where Jerry spent more than 35 years with the Fort Worth and Denver Railway and the Burlington Northern Railroad. He retired in July of 1995 as director of labor relations.
Yvonne worked for Southwestern Life Ins. Co. and First National Bank of Fort Worth. Later, she was the executive secretary of the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce for 17 years before retiring in Sept. of 1995.
They have lived in Stephenville since 1976.
