SPARD invites the community to create unique Halloween designs for the seasonal orange gourd carving competition.

The contest begins at 7 p.m. Thursday at the City Parks large pavilion, located across from the Lions Club baseball field.

Three hundred free pumpkins will be provided. Some decorations will be furnished, or contestants can bring their own.

Judging begins at 7:30 p.m.
