The Stephenville ISD will get down to business Monday by first recognizing the districtís outstanding students, including Future Farmers of America (FFA) members who earned district, area, state and national awards.

The board will also present Hook and Chamberlin elementary administrators with plaques noting the campuses exemplary status. The campuses were recently notified of the achievement after the correction of a clerical error showed one student was counted in two separate student groups.

In other items of business, the board will hear reports from Les Gandy, the districtís representative on Erath County Appraisal District board of directors; independent auditors Davis/Kinard & Company, on the 2008-09 school yearís annual financial and compliance; Dr. Joyce Anderson on suggested changes to TxVSN (Texas Virtual School Network) policies; Michelle Michael on SISDís AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress); and Dr. Kathy Ray on the highly qualified.

The board will also hear the 2008-09 report on the districtís annual Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) Performance and hold a required public hearing on the report and consider approval of a low attendance waiver for Hook Elementary for Oct. 5-6.

In his report, Superintendent Dr. Darrell Floyd will discuss a Dec. 17 called board meeting to hear plans and recommendations for the districtís strategic planning process. Finally, the board will meet in closed session to discuss Floydís evaluation and contract.

The board meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the board room at the districtís administration building at 2655 W. Overhill Drive in Stephenville.
