After researching and visiting Stephenville, Aaron Shaw, D.O., decided it's the place to live and raise a family.

Shaw recently joined the medical staff at Harris Methodist Erath County Hospital. He is thirty-years-old and is beginning his first practice at 630 North Graham Street.

Shaw graduated with a medical degree from the University of Health Science Center in Fort Worth and completed postgraduate studies at Texas Tech University Science Center in Lubbock in internal medicine. While there he served as co-chief Internal Medicine Resident Physician and is currently a member of the Texas Medical Association.

Shaw said about a year ago he began looking at areas to set up shop. He said his dad grew up in Weatherford, so he was somewhat familiar with the area and liked the lay of the land.

After looking into the community and the public school system, he moved his wife, Amanda, and four-year-old son, Aiden, here about a month ago from Lubbock.

Amanda is the former benefits coordinator for United Supermarkets.

Shaw said he is a sports addict and a big animal lover. He has two dogs, two chinchillas, and spends quite a bit of time taking care of saltwater aquariums as a hobby.

“I really wanted to be in a profession where I can help people, Shaw said.

After considering dentistry he decided on medicine.

Shaw said he looks forward to becoming involved in the community.
