Authorities said it could be two weeks before they know what caused the death of a Stephenville woman last week.
On Saturday, the body of Kim Williamson, 42, was discovered inside her vehicle parked in a bar ditch on FM 205. Williamson’s family reported her missing to police about 3 p.m. Friday, one day before her body was found. The family told authorities she had been missing for three days and was last seen at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
A friend of Williamson’s spotted the car Saturday afternoon while traveling on FM 205. Authorities said they believe Williamson had been there for several days before she was found. Her body, they said, was badly decomposed.
Erath County Sheriff Tommy Bryant said investigators would not release any additional information about the case until they receive the autopsy report from the medical examiner’s office. Bryant said it is not known if Williamson’s death was the result of foul play, natural causes or an accident.
“Right now I couldn’t say one way or another,” Bryant said. “We won’t know until we get the full (autopsy) results.”
