“A Taste of Scouting” registration is 6-8 p.m. Sept. 21 at Stephenville City Park in the small pavilion by the pool. This is a joint registration for boy and girl scouts, open to all Erath County youth ages 5 and up.
Families are invited to eat and have fun. Hot dogs, drinks, Dutch oven cobblers, ice cream, and s'mores will be plentiful.
Boy Scouts will feature camp kitchen, wall tent, Dutch oven cooking, and archery. Also, there will be a pine wood derby, rain gutter regatta, American Indian crafts, and whittling. Scouts will construct a knot board and have tie slide crafts.
Girl Scouts will sponsor a SWAPS booth, climbing wall, and sit-upons. There will be extra fun with a sleeping bag relay, making s'mores, and a songfest. A letter writing station for the U.S. troops will accept personal messages to those overseas.
The GSA will also have film canister rockets, water balloons, golf, and a snack walk.
