In 18 days, classrooms across the area will spring to life when the beginning of a new school year gets under way — and soon, teachers will begin the annual ritual of filling their rooms with books and decorations.
During a called meeting last week, the Stephenville school board accepted resignations, hired several new teachers and re-assigned others to various campuses throughout the district.
Indeed, summer vacation is almost over and preparations for the 2007-08 school year are in full swing. Personnel changes the board recently approved include the following:
Amy Hattox-Hoag will join the staff as a kindergarten teacher at Central Elementary, replacing Krista Todd. Krista Todd will move to Chamberlin Elementary, replacing Mary Terrill as a 2nd grade teacher. Michelle Ponder will begin teaching 3rd grade at Hook Elementary, replacing Renee Goodwin. Kelli McKinzie will teach science and coach basketball at Henderson Junior High School, replacing Victoria Box. Jennifer Battenfield will teach BCIS and act as the JV cheerleading sponsor at Stephenville High School, replacing Kim Winfrey.
Dublin ISD board members held a meeting Monday night to discuss personnel changes, but the report was not available to the public on Tuesday, according to school officials.
