Two Stephenville school board places will be up for election on May 12.

Louis Skipper has been appointed as the presiding judge for the annual Stephenville Independent School Board of Trustees elections.

Denise Kribbs will be the alternate presiding judge.

Dr. Darrell Floyd, superintendent of schools, reported to board members at Monday’s meeting that Places 4 and 5 will be up for election.

Dr. Ann Calahan currently holds Place 4. Ora Lee Leeth holds Place 5 and both are full three-year terms.

Anyone wishing to be placed on the ballot has from February 12 to March 12 to do so, Floyd said.

Floyd said electronic voting machines will be used-the same as in November’s election.

Awarded the Voiceover IP project to Embarq, Awarded the track renovation project to A1, Reviewed the SISD performance report and conducted a public hearing, Approved the 2007-2008 school calendar, Heard a progress report on the athletic turf grass field and parking lot under construction at the Junior High School, Approved property and casualty insurance coverage with TASB for the 2007—08 school year, and Received a reminder that the campus staff development day has been changed to Feb 12 and there will be no school for students. Previously the staff development day was scheduled for February 19 and that day is now a regular school day with TAKS tests to be administered the following day.
