An Erath County grand jury indicted eight individuals on a list of charges, ranging from first degree felonies to state jail felonies.

Jimmy Bryan Powell, 23, was indicted on three felony counts of assault against a public servant.

District Attorney Jason Cashon said Powell will face three separate charges and each victim’s case will be treated fairly and equally.

In July, Powell allegedly attacked three jailers at the Erath County Jail, where he was being held for failure to appear on two driving while intoxicated charges and one possession of marijuana charge.

If convicted of the assault charges, Powell could be sentenced to three prison terms, ranging from two to 10 years each.
