The Transit System, Inc. (TTS) would like to express our appreciation to all the citizens of Erath County who used our services or supported us over the past five years. Our last day of service was Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, due to a decision by Erath County Commissioners to withdraw their resolution passed in 2002 to become a part of TTS Rural Transit District. TTS was not contacted by anyone of this decision prior to the article published on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007. A copy of the article in the Stephenville Empire-Tribune was faxed to TTS and thatís how TTS was informed of this decision.

It was stated by Darlene Gaitan in the article published on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, that TTSís rates were prohibited, dispatchers were rude, and long waiting periods for transportation were experienced by riders.

Unfortunately, these complaints of the customers using our service were never received by TTS or by TxDOT. Had TTS received the complaints, the issues would have been addressed to the individuals. Contrarily, we have received many calls from our passengers, complimenting our services and were saddened by our departure.

In any case, it was our pleasure to be of service to Erath County citizens for the past five years.

Best wishes to you all,

Barbara Perry
