The Stephenville Independent School District Board of Trustees met in closed session Monday night to discuss personnel matters.
New employees for the 2007-08 school year are,
Traci Grimes - regular education teacher at Hook Elementary School, Sharon Hatler - science teacher at Henderson Junior High School, Victoria Box - science/athletics teacher at Henderson Junior High School, Misty Benson - soccer coach/ teacher at Stephenville High School, Molly Thornton - English teacher at Stephenville High School, John Tucker - Choir Director at Stephenville High School,
Resignations accepted are as follows,
Lanell Kolb - Gilbert Intermediate School, Heather Sneed - Henderson Junior High, Christine Bridges - Stephenville High School, Wendy King - Special education.
Staff changes are as follows:
Judy Ford has been reassigned to Stephenville High School from Gilbert Intermediate School to replace Judy Horton who resigned, Elizabeth Stephens has been reassigned to Gilbert Intermediate School as PEIMS coordinator, and Nita Heaton has been reassigned as Gilbert Intermediate School secretary.
Dr. Ann Calahan and Ora Lee Leeth were sworn in for another term by Norma Cervetto and the board voted to make no changes in the current officer positions. Calahan will continue to serve as board president, Toby Mills will serve as vice president and Ora Lee Leeth will serve as secretary.
The board approved the district to begin participating in the new Education Service Center Region XI Employee Benefits Cooperative for 2007-08.
Superintendent Dr. Darrell Floyd said the decision will benefit the district’s employees by providing affordable dental, vision and cancer policies.
The board also approved the sale of used technology equipment sale on Ebay.
In other business the board;
Approved the district improvement plan, Set dates for next year’s meetings, Reviewed reports on current financial statements, and Approved a resolution for the City of Stephenville’s “Safe Routes to School” grant.
