Quilters will gather together this weekend for the Threads of Texas Quilt Show at the Valley Grove Baptist Church Family Life Center from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission to the show is $5.

The Town ‘n Country Quilt Guild will present the show.

Lasa Erlandson will judge quilts before the show. In addition to Best of Show and First Place ribbons, Stephenville Mayor Nancy Hunter and Pastor Glenn Shock will also award ribbons. Awards will be displayed throughout the show.

A silent auction with mini-quilts made by guild members will be held.

A variety of vendors, including fabrics, quilt racks, Pampered Chef and an embroidery vendor, will be on hand along with the guild’s Country Store.

Short demonstrations will be held throughout the event.

A bed turning presentation will be on stage. Quilts laid out on the bed will be folded while the history of the quilt is presented.

Door prizes donated by local merchants will be up for grabs and prize baskets will be raffled off.

Tickets for a quilt raffle are available for $1 each or 6 for $5. The jewel-tone quilt is named Brave World and was quilted by a guild member. The drawing will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday.

A scissors sharpener will be available to sharpen blades of all kinds and Lasa Erlandson will be on hand for quilt appraisals by appointment.

Lunch and snack items will be served outside on the patio.

The quilt guild meets the first Saturday of each month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Citibank Community Room, located at 2207 Washington Street. All levels of quilters are welcome.
