Look around and feel proud about where you live!

You can check out the Stephenville Empire-Tribune on a daily basis and read about someone - often a child or youth - who is representing our county in positive ways. Tarleton football is No. 10 in the AFCA poll, not to mention the menís and womenís rodeo teams won several places. Yellow Jacket football is No. 1 and the Honey Bees volleyball is No. 2 in district. We canít forget about the great Stephenville High School Band taking 6th place at the US Scholastic Band Association Marching competition or the 4-H club that had their banquet this past week and gave out 85 awards to various adults and children.

The 2007 Woman of the Year went to De-Lynn Miller. This is a weekís worth of recognition we published last week alone.

There are countless of others that have won awards in the past so many that Iím not able to name.

I just want to show how much our newspaper cares about this community and our kids and if you have received an award or honor please contact us and let us know.

It makes me feel good to know that we have picked a great place to raise our children and it is very humbling.

Congratulations to all who persevere!
