Special to the E-T

The Department of Defense recently named FMC Technologies as a recipient of the 2009 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The honor is the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers that demonstrate outstanding support of their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.

Jeremy Joslin, a former machine operator at the Stephenville facility, nominated FMC for the honor. The nomination process is open to all Guard and Reserve personnel and their families. A national selection board comprised of senior Defense officials and business leaders selected the award recipients. More than 3,000 nominations were submitted to the Department of Defense for consideration, and FMC was one of only 15 companies from across the nation to receive this year’s award.

The award will be presented during a formal ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 17, in Washington, D.C. Jeremy Joslin and John Gremp will be present at the event to accept the award.
