E-T Staff Report

Hometown boys, Deryl Dodd and Larry Joe Taylor, will kick off this year’s Summer Nights Concert Series at 8 p.m. Saturday at Stephenville City Park.

Drew Wells, director of community services, is encouraging concert-goers to bring lawn chairs and blankets for a night of music and family fun under the big Texas sky.

One thing you’ll want to leave at home, however, is Fido.

City officials are asking the public to leave their pets at home, citing a city ordinance that prohibits people from bringing their pets to the park during organized events.

Tomorrow’s concert is the first in a series that includes performances by Robert Earl Keen, Aug. 16; Marty Stuart & The Fabulous Superlatives, Aug. 24; and The Whites, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Sept. 6.

The Summer Nights Concert Series, sponsored by TexStar Ford, SPARD and Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council, is free to the public.
