At tonight’s meeting of the Dublin City Council, the council will call a May 10 election to fill the seats of four council members, one from each of the city’s wards.

The seats of Jeff Weaber, Ward One; Dan Burlison, Ward Two; Gaylon Craddock, Ward Three; and James Yoho, Ward Four will be up for election.

Burlison and Craddock have both filed for re-election. Tom Gordon has filed for a shot at Ward One.

The council will also consider approval of an ordinance authorization the issuance of “City of Dublin, Texas General Obligation Refunding Bonds, Series 2008”; hear a report from Krischke and Company regarding the 2006-2007 audit for the city; and hear a recommendation from David Todd, with Hibbs and Todd Engineering, requesting a letter of participation form the city regarding the Texas Department of Transportation Airport Grant.

Recommendations from the Public Safety Committee will be considered in reference to changes made by the Texas Department of Health to improve the city’s animal shelter. The committee will also offer recommendations on city codes and ordinances.

Cory James, director of pubic works, will address the council regarding the designation of the city’s historical brick streets and discuss options for the remaining brick streets.

Finally, Police Chief Lannie Lee will address the council giving the annual report on racial profiling.

The council will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the Council chambers at Dublin City Hall, 213 E. Blackjack.
