Stephenville (9-1) begins play in the Class 4A Division 2 football playoffs in Burlseson Thursday.
Kickoff against Fort Worth O.D. Wyatt (6-4) in the bi-district round is set for 7:30 p.m. at Burleson Stadium.
Tickets go on sale at noon today inside the lobby at Stephenville High School. Cost of admission in advance is $6 for adults and $3 for students. All tickets at the gate will cost $7.
Wyatt is from District 7-4A, made up completely of Fort Worth schools. The Chaparrals were 4-0 in the East Zone of the district before falling to top West Zone member FW Southwest in the championship game 31-28 last week.
Past Wyatt in round one, the Region I field of contenders is very similar to last year. If Stephenville wins Thursday, the Jackets meet either Springtown or Wichita Falls Rider in the area round. If the Jackets make it further than they did in 2006, a rematch with Everman could lie ahead in the Regional final (state quarterfinal).
With final details not yet confirmed, there are tentative plans for Stephenville to hold its fifth meeting in four years with Wichita Falls Rider at Texas Stadium as part of a high school triple header on Nov. 24 at Texas Stadium.
For the next sequal in that compelling series to take place, both theams must first take care of business in round one.
