Legendary singer/songwriter Michael Martin Murphey is set to take the stage during the Summer Sky concert series on Friday at the Cowboy Church of Erath County, located at 4945 US Highway 67.

Concessions open at 5:30 p.m. and music gets under way at 7. Advance tickets are $20, $25 and $30. Tickets purchased at the door are $25, $30 and $35.

The proceeds will benefit the Summer Sky Treatment Center which is dedicated to providing quality service for chemical dependency among teens and adults.

Michael Martin Murphey has received countless awards during his extraordinary career, and is known as America’s best-selling cowboy music singer. His most recent honor is being named Entertainer of the Year at the Texas Music Awards. Murphey’s hits include “Wildfire,” “Cowboy Logic,” “Carolina in the Pines,” “What’s Forever For,” and “Long Line of Love.” Other celebrated songs include “Geronimo’s Cadillac” and “Cherokee Fiddle”. 

Murphey’s latest CD, “Buckaroo Blue Grass,” is proving to be a huge hit as it continues to climb the Billboard Top 10 chart and receive rave reviews. CMT has chosen Michael Martin Murphey’s “Buckaroo Blue Grass” (Rural Rhythm Records) as one of the 10 independent albums that music fans should check out in 2009. It features Murphey’s acoustic versions of his songs that have been recorded by Bluegrass bands over the years.
